Race 1 July 16 2000 at Belmont
This is where it all started. EA is in race 2, a 5 1/2 furlong maiden special weight. Breaking
from the 6 post in a field of 10, EA quickly falls to 7th, trailing by 12 lengths. But just as he does today, EA would show
his closing form, getting up to finish 2nd behind Firstround Ko, losing by only 3 1/2 lengths.
Race 2 8/6/00 at the Saratoga (The
Spa)
Another try at breaking his maiden. This time it would be at 6 1/2 furlongs. The extra distance makes
all the difference in the world, as EA closes to win by a nose.
Race 3 9/2/00 at the Spa
Coming off the win, it is decided EA would race in the premiere 2yo race at the Spa, the Grade 1 Hopeful.
But EA is not ready for the big time yet, and finishes 7th.
Race 4 9/28/00 at Belmont
A much easier task in an allowance race, EA closes to finish 2nd. He does get his revenge against Firstround
Ko, who beat EA in his very first race.
Race 5 10/13/00 at Belmont
The same conditions equal the same results, another 2nd place finish. This would be the last race for
EA under trainer Tim Kelly. Its now time for Pat Kelly to take over.
